The commissioned AgResearch study modelled this stock class across different ages, animal classes and growth rates. Against the New Zealand beef benchmark used in the study, the result was a 32–48% lower carbon footprint.

That is the result KaiProva can support first. It is not a claim about every animal or every kind of beef.

How efficiently an animal grows is a major driver of its carbon footprint. An industry average hides that difference.

Dated weights from existing equipment show how much liveweight the animal is adding over time.

Each animal still needs evidence

Registering the right type of animal does not automatically earn the result. The identity, weights and completed history must support it.

What the individual number means.

Is the animal’s carbon footprint measured directly?

No. Carbon is calculated, not sensed. KaiProva’s methodology works from the evidence in that animal’s record — including its real weight history — with the published AgResearch modelling as its input.

Does every young dairy animal get the 32–48% result?

No. The range describes the production system studied. KaiProva only supports an individual result when that animal’s record fits the evidence and scope.

Why does processing matter?

Processing completes the animal record with the final result. That closes the lifetime history used to produce and carry the individual carbon evidence.

What happens if part of the history is missing?

The gap stays visible. KaiProva does not replace missing weights or ownership history with an assumption.
